Fresher Resume Kaise Banaye: Step-by-Step IT Resume Guide

30 Oct 2026

A good fresher resume does not need years of experience. It needs a clear target role, honest skills and proof that you have built or learned something. For most entry-level IT applications, keep the resume to one page and make it easy to scan.

Use this section order

  1. Header: Full name, phone number, professional email, city, LinkedIn and GitHub.
  2. Summary: Two lines stating your degree, target role, strongest relevant skills and one proof point.
  3. Technical skills: Group languages, frameworks, databases and tools. List only skills you can explain.
  4. Projects: Add two or three projects. Write what you built, how you built it and what someone can verify.
  5. Education: Degree, college, university, graduation year and CGPA or percentage when useful.
  6. Experience, certifications or achievements: Include relevant internships, freelance work, hackathons and courses.

Write projects instead of vague claims

“Made a website using Python” is too vague. A stronger bullet is: “Built a Django expense tracker with authenticated accounts, category filters and PostgreSQL storage; tested the main flows with automated checks.” Use numbers only when you can show how you measured them.

Formatting rules

  • Use one column, readable 10–12 point text and consistent spacing.
  • Do not use a photo, date of birth, father’s name, declarations, rating bars or decorative graphics for an IT resume.
  • Export a selectable-text PDF and name it FirstName_LastName_Role.pdf.
  • Change the summary and skills order for the job you are applying to.

Final check before sending

Open every link, check spelling, remove skills you cannot defend and compare the resume with the job description. You can use the ResumePakad resume builder to create the PDF and the free resume checker to compare it with a real job post.

Common questions

How long should a fresher resume be?

Usually one page. Include only your strongest and most relevant education, skills and projects.

Should a fresher add a photo?

For an IT resume, usually no. Use the space for relevant projects, skills and links instead.

How many projects should I include?

Two or three solid projects are enough when each has specific bullets and a working repository or demo where possible.
