Python Developer Fresher Resume Sample (2026)
28 Oct 2026 · Updated 28 Oct 2026
Python is the most common first language for Indian IT freshers, which means recruiters see hundreds of nearly identical Python resumes every placement season. Most of them list the same ten skills and describe the same tutorial projects. Standing out is not about knowing more libraries. It is about proving you can build something real with the ones you know. This guide shows you what to put on a Python fresher resume and gives you a complete sample to copy.
What recruiters actually check
For an entry-level Python role, a recruiter or hiring manager checks three things in order. First, can you write Python beyond print statements — functions, classes, error handling, file handling. Second, have you built anything end to end — a script, an API, a small app that someone could run. Third, do you know the supporting tools every team uses — Git, SQL, and at least one framework. Your resume should answer all three within the top half of the page.
Skills worth listing
Group your skills and keep them honest. A solid Python fresher skill section looks like this:
- Languages: Python, SQL, basic HTML and CSS
- Frameworks: Django or Flask or FastAPI — pick the one you have actually built with
- Libraries: only ones you used in a project, such as pandas, requests or BeautifulSoup
- Tools: Git, GitHub, Postman, Jupyter Notebook
- Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL or SQLite
Do not list machine learning, data science and web development together unless you have projects in each. A focused resume beats a scattered one.
Project bullets that prove skill
Every project bullet should name what you built, the Python tools you used, and something you can demonstrate. Compare these:
- Weak: Made a web scraping project in Python.
- Strong: Built a Python scraper using requests and BeautifulSoup that collects prices from three shopping sites, stores them in SQLite and emails a daily summary using smtplib.
- Weak: Worked on data analysis using pandas.
- Strong: Cleaned and analysed a 40,000-row public dataset with pandas, found the five factors most linked to customer churn and presented the results in a Jupyter notebook with charts.
Numbers from real datasets are fine. Invented business results are not.

Mistakes Python freshers make
- Claiming expert-level Python. If you write expert, expect hard questions on decorators, generators and the GIL. Write what you can defend.
- Tutorial clones with no changes. A YouTube to-do app is fine as a starting point, but say what you added yourself — a new feature, tests, deployment.
- No GitHub link or an empty one. A recruiter who clicks your link and finds three committed projects trusts your resume far more.
- Ignoring SQL. Almost every Python job touches a database. One project with real queries covers this.
Final checklist
One page, grouped skills, two or three projects with concrete bullets, a working GitHub link and a summary written for the specific job. Then check your resume against a real Python job post on ResumePakad — it shows you skill by skill what the job asks for that your resume does not mention, before the recruiter notices.
Summary lines you can adapt
These examples are fictional. Use only your own real qualifications and project details.
Your summary is the only paragraph most recruiters read fully, so write it last and write it for the specific job. Three examples for different Python directions:
- Backend: BTech graduate with Python and SQL skills shown through two deployed Flask APIs. Built authentication, validation and database models for a college event system. Seeking a junior backend role.
- Data: BSc IT graduate who works with pandas and SQL. Cleaned and analysed public datasets up to 40,000 rows and presented findings in documented notebooks. Looking for a junior data analyst role.
- Automation and testing: BCA graduate who automates repetitive work with Python. Built scripts for report generation and file processing used by my college department. Seeking a QA automation or Python developer role.
Notice none of them say hardworking or passionate. Role, skills, proof — that is the whole formula.
Common questions
Should I list Django, Flask and FastAPI all together?
Only list frameworks you have built a project with. One framework with a real deployed project is stronger than three names with nothing behind them.
Is DSA important for a Python fresher resume?
Yes for product companies, but it does not belong as a skill list item. Mention it under achievements with a coding platform profile or rating if you have one.
How many projects should a Python fresher resume have?
Two or three solid projects. Each should show different skills — for example one web API, one automation or data script, and one with a database.
