How to Add GitHub Link to a Fresher Resume
30 Oct 2026
Put your GitHub profile in the header beside LinkedIn, and add the repository link beside each relevant project. Use a short, readable URL and test it before sending the PDF.
Prepare the profile
Pin your strongest repositories, add a short profile description and remove secrets, API keys and private data. Each project README should explain the problem, features, stack, setup steps and limitations. Meaningful commits are useful, but do not create artificial commit history.
Connect it to the resume
Every repository you mention should match the project name and technology on your resume. Be ready to explain the code, trade-offs and bugs. An empty profile or copied tutorial repository can hurt trust.
Create a clean project section with the ResumePakad builder.
Common questions
Should GitHub be public?
Make relevant repositories public only when they contain no secrets, private data or restricted code.
What if my GitHub has only one project?
A well-documented genuine project is better than many unfinished or copied repositories.
