Python Interview Questions for Freshers

30 Oct 2026

Python interviews often begin with fundamentals and then move to your project. Revise concepts by writing small examples instead of memorising definitions.

Topics to practise

Know mutable and immutable values, lists and dictionaries, functions and scope, modules, exceptions, file handling, classes, virtual environments and basic testing. For web roles, add HTTP, APIs, validation and database access. For data roles, add pandas operations and data quality decisions.

Connect answers to work

If you list a library, be ready to explain why you used it, what input it expects and what can fail. A small project you built is a good source of examples. Do not claim advanced knowledge because you completed a course.

Common questions

Should I memorise Python interview answers?

Understand the concept and practise with small examples. Memorised definitions alone are easy to expose with follow-up questions.

Are Python coding problems asked for every role?

The depth varies by role and employer. Read the job description and practise the relevant level.
