QA Tester Kaise Bane: Fresher Roadmap

30 Oct 2026

QA work is about finding risk and communicating it clearly. A fresher should learn how software requirements become test cases, how bugs are reproduced and how a release can be checked systematically.

Start with fundamentals

Learn functional, regression, smoke and exploratory testing. Practise writing steps, expected results and actual results. Learn basic SQL and HTTP so you can test data and APIs rather than only clicking screens.

Add automation carefully

Choose one language and one automation tool used by the roles you want. Automate stable, valuable flows and understand why a test fails. A copied script with no explanation is weaker than a small suite you maintain.

Describe testing projects honestly on your resume and compare it with QA job descriptions using the checker.

Common questions

Do QA freshers need coding?

Manual testing can be a starting point, but basic coding and SQL help with API and automation work.

What should a QA project contain?

Include requirements, test cases, defects found, test data and automation only where you understand it.
