BTech CSE Fresher Resume Format with Project Examples

30 Oct 2026

BTech CSE students usually have more material than they can fit: major project, mini projects, DSA practice, hackathons, certifications. The goal of a fresher resume is not to include everything — it is to show the most relevant proof on one page.

One-page structure

  1. Header with phone, email, LinkedIn, GitHub and (optionally) a coding profile.
  2. Education: BTech branch, college, expected year, CGPA.
  3. Technical skills, grouped by type.
  4. Projects: major project first, then 1–2 others.
  5. Internship or training, if any.
  6. Achievements: hackathons, coding contests, relevant certifications.

Showing DSA honestly

Instead of writing "Expert in DSA", give verifiable detail: "Solved 300+ problems on LeetCode (arrays, trees, graphs, DP)" with a profile link. Only write numbers that are true and that you can show.

Writing the major project

  • One line on what the project does and who it is for.
  • Your part, if it was a team project: "Built the backend API and database schema."
  • Tech stack named clearly.
  • A result you can verify: tested with classmates, deployed link, or measured improvement.

What to remove

  • Photo, date of birth, father's name, declaration.
  • School-level certificates unrelated to IT.
  • Soft-skill lists like "hardworking, team player" without evidence.
  • Every language you touched once in first year.

Tailor for each company

A resume for a web-development role should push web projects up; for a data role, push Python/SQL work up. Paste the job description into the ResumePakad checker to see the skill gaps, then edit in the free builder.

Common questions

Should BTech freshers mention CGPA?

Yes, most campus and service-company job posts ask for it. If it is below a cut-off, you still should not hide it when asked; strengthen projects instead.

Can I include a coding profile link?

Yes, if it is active and reflects real practice. An empty profile is better left out.

Is a two-page resume okay for BTech freshers?

One page is the safer choice for freshers. Keep only the strongest, most relevant items.
