How to Make a Resume with No Experience (IT Freshers)

Many freshers think a resume without experience looks empty. In reality, entry-level recruiters do not expect job experience — they look for evidence that you can learn and build. You can show that without a single internship.

Replace "Experience" with proof

If you have no internship, remove the Experience heading completely. Move Projects right after Skills so your strongest proof appears first.

What counts as proof

• Academic projects: final-year and mini projects, explained clearly.
• Personal projects: a small app, website, script or data analysis you built.
• Open-source contributions: even small fixes or documentation.
• Hackathons and contests: participation and results.
• Relevant coursework: DBMS, Operating Systems, Computer Networks (one line).
• Certifications: only ones related to the role.

Turn a college project into strong bullets

Weak: "Made a hospital management system."

Better:

• Built a hospital appointment system in PHP and MySQL with patient, doctor and admin logins.
• Designed the database schema and wrote queries for booking and cancellation.
• Tested the app with five classmates and fixed issues found in booking flow.

Don't fill gaps with fake details

Invented internships or skills are easy to expose in interviews and background checks. A smaller, honest resume is safer.
